In a significant collaborative effort to address pediatric cardiac healthcare needs, Dr. Abdul Sattar Shaikh and Dr. Salahuddin Kakar from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Karachi embarked on a pivotal visit to the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Institute of Cardiology in Quetta. Their visit marked a milestone in extending specialized cardiac care services to the pediatric population in Quetta and its surrounding regions.During their visit, Dr. Abdul Sattar Shaikh and Dr. Salahuddin Kakar conducted a comprehensive Pediatric Cardiac Outpatient Department (OPD) session, providing expert consultations and evaluations for children with cardiac conditions. Utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques, such as pediatric echocardiography (ECHO), they meticulously assessed the cardiovascular health of young patients, identifying critical issues and formulating tailored treatment plans.The expertise of Dr. Abdul Sattar Shaikh and Dr. Salahuddin Kakar extended beyond diagnosis, as they offered invaluable guidance on pediatric cardiac surgeries. With a commitment to delivering the highest standards of care, they advised on the necessity and feasibility of cardiac surgeries for the young patients they consulted, ensuring optimal outcomes and improved quality of life.Throughout their visit, Dr. Abdul Sattar Shaikh and Dr. Salahuddin Kakar consulted approximately 165 pediatric patients, providing them with much-needed specialized attention and paving the way for their cardiac treatment journeys. Crucially, they laid the groundwork for future interventions by planning and coordinating pediatric cardiac surgeries to be performed at the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Institute of Cardiology Hospital in Quetta.
